Real Presence, Real Future

 Important Message from the Desk of Fr Jeff —

Dear St. Margaret Parish Family,

Greetings to each of you. As of May 25th, 2023 the diocese has published Bishop Fernandes' final response to the Real Presence Real Future initiative that commenced in 2019. The final decision by our bishop is as was predicted a year ago. Namely, St Margaret of Cortona Parish will enter into a 'collaborative' with St Brendan Parish. Each parish remains a separate canonical parish with its own church and with a shared vision created for both parishes in the collaborative. There will be separate finance councils for each parish with eventually one parish council for both churches. Our preschool here at St Margaret remains as a feeder to St Brendan School.

I am looking forward to our closer collaboration with St Brendan as we advance together into the future. We will be collaborating on different areas of ministry, growth, and evangelization. We have begun by sharing a staff person, Mr. Ben Romaker, who is working at both parishes in the areas of development and communications. I believe this collaboration will be positive for both of our parishes as we advance together.
